Good News | ZRHI Signs Contract for Two 33,000‑DWT Duplex Stainless‑Steel Oil/Chemical Tankers

Anhui Zhongrun Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. (ZRHI, Anrun Group) recently held a signing ceremony with South‑Korean shipowners DM Shipping and Taikun Shipping for the construction of 2 × 33,000‑DWT Duplex 2205 Stainless‑Steel Oil/Chemical Tankers (IMO II & III).

Featuring 2205 duplex‑stainless‑steel cargo tanks, the vessels are engineered to carry IMO Category‑II and ‑III hazardous chemicals as well as finished oil products. Thanks to the superior corrosion‑resistance of duplex steel, the tankers are capable of transporting a wider range of corrosive liquid cargoes with high operational flexibility. Designed to comply with the latest IMO emission and energy‑efficiency requirements, the ships will be well‑suited for major worldwide trading routes.

Representatives from both parties signed the construction contract at the ceremony, witnessed by the national flags of China and the Republic of Korea. ZRHI will supervise the full project workflow including design conversion, production, construction and inspection with strict quality control, and deliver both vessels on‑schedule with high‑standard workmanship.

This new contract marks another milestone for ZRHI in the high‑end stainless‑steel chemical‑tanker sector and its expanding cooperation with Asian overseas shipowners. Going forward, the shipyard will keep focusing on high‑value‑added liquid‑cargo vessels, strengthen its international presence and build up its reputation in the global shipbuilding market.
